Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach out to us if you cannot find an answer to your question.

For optimal results:

  • Plan to have at least 16 hours of quiet time before the audio test to ensure accuracy.
  • Try to limit water intake before the drug and alcohol test, but don't abstain completely.
  • Avoid consuming excessive amounts of coffee in the morning to maintain stable blood pressure readings.
  • Be prepared to declare any medications you've taken in the past 14 days prior to the medical, as this can impact the drug and alcohol results.
  • Please be sure to wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the muscle and fitness test.

We understand you may want to obtain a copy of your medical report. Please note that the medical is normally conducted on behalf of a third-party entity - such as your employer or recruitment agency. As such, the commissioning party is considered the rightful owner of the report, and we are only authorised to release a copy directly to them.

While the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) generally provide individuals with the right to access their personal information, there are exceptions to this right- particularly in the context of employment-related assessments.

In accordance with these provisions, the organisation that requested the medical assessment holds the authority to determine how the report is used and shared. We are bound by both legal and contractual obligations, and releasing the report to you directly would place us in breach of those obligations.

You are welcome to request a copy of the report from the commissioning entity directly. In some cases, your employer may have engaged a third-party provider to coordinate the assessment. If you are unsure who this is, please feel free to contact us, and we will be happy to provide the relevant details.

Ultimately, it is at the discretion of the commissioning party to determine whether the report may be released to you. They are not legally required to do so.

During a standard pre-employment medical assessment, candidates can expect a thorough evaluation of their health and fitness. This includes an audio test to assess hearing capabilities, a spirometry test to evaluate lung function, and a muscle and fitness assessment to gauge physical strength and endurance. Additionally, candidates undergo a drug and alcohol screening to ensure workplace safety and adherence to company policies. The medical assessment may vary depending on the paperwork and may be adjusted according to the requirements set by your recruiters.

A health screener conducts preliminary health assessments and screenings to identify potential health issues, while a nurse provides comprehensive medical care and support to patients across various healthcare settings. Health screeners typically perform basic screenings and refer individuals to healthcare professionals for further evaluation.
